Fiddleheads: Giveaway
You may or may not have heard that I have a new book coming out later this year from Mercer University Press: BURDY.
It is the sequel to MOTHER OF RAIN.
You definitely will want to read MOTHER OF RAIN before reading BURDY.
There will be more news about all this later.
You may also have heard that a new store has opened up in my hometown of Columbus, Georgia.
FIDDLEHEADS.
You can like them on Facebook by clicking this link.
I know the folks who own and run Fiddleheads and you might know at least one of them if you followed along on my last book tour. Michael Ross Harper, or Ross to those of us charmed by him, hosted a book event at his sweet store in Pine Mountain.
My dear friend David Toney came out and played the guitar. A lot of people turned out to buy books. We had a wonderful time. It was so much fun, wasn’t it?
Well, Ross and two really wonderful women now have this fabulous new shop – and yes, please do go visit Fiddleheads when you get a chance.
I met Ross shortly before going to Europe in 2013. Ross studied languages at Auburn University. He lived and worked in France after graduation, and had only recently returned to Georgia when we met. So he was a wealth of information for me, providing me with the names of places to visit, where to spend the night, what towns I must, must visit.
Ross was so helpful that many of his suggestions appear prominently in BURDY.
And in anticipation of the forthcoming novel, I am hosting a giveaway on this blog once a month between now and the book’s release. Every month, Ross will choose a very special gift from FIDDLEHEADS and mail it out to the lucky person.
So what do you need to do to win?
Just leave a comment below. I’ll enter all your names and draw out one lucky soul. Then Ross will pick out something fabulous from the store for you. That’s easy enough, huh?
If you have visited France, feel free to share one of your own favorite memories in your comment below. You all know how I love a good story!

about 6 years agoSounds like great store. The picture reminds me of the times I've spent in Tellico Plains, Tenn. With Some Great people. Still waiting for that book.

about 6 years agoHad the chance to visit Paris briefly in 1968--before the city skyline was marred by skyscrapers. What an amazing place! Had l'escargot at the restaurant on the Eiffel Tower. Got around via the Paris Metro. My traveling partner and I had almost no money and put in the required amount for one book of 10 tickets at the vending machine. To our great good fortune, TWO books of 10 tickets fell out. What a treat! Just studying the Paris street map is a journey in itself, a clue to a history long and varied and so different from our cities here. Merci!

about 6 years agoVisiting Omaha beach, cemetery, and a nearby WWII museum with our 3 teenage sons was powerful and sobering. Many of the soldiers memorialized there were not much older than our boys were at the time we visited.

about 6 years agoA bunch of years ago I got courage to fly to Paris with my husband. I DO NOT FLY! But Paris was one place I wasn't about to pass up. I will never forget it. I had wonderful food, walked in a light rain late at night in high heels that clicked and sounded so odd on our way back to the hotel, and tried not to sob out loud when I stood in front of Renoir's "Dance at Bougival". A most memorable trip. I also can't wait to read your books!!! Will try and find them now. Thanks for triggering a memory to remember.
