BOOK GIVEAWAY: THE ORPHAN MOTHER

reading

Summer is almost over and you know what that means, right?

Yeah.

More time for indoor activities like READING!

And I can think of no better way to celebrate reading than to sponsor BOOK GIVEAWAYS!

All this week I am going to be giving away new book releases. Yes. That’s right. New Books!

All you have to do is leave me a message here, on the blog. I’ll draw a winner for each book.

I want to start by celebrating one of my most favorite people in the whole entire world – Robert Hicks of Franklin, Tenn. Perhaps you read his WIDOW OF THE SOUTH? Or maybe his A SEPARATE COUNTRY?

If you haven’t, you should get up to snuff.

Anyway, Robert’s long awaited new novel, THE ORPHAN MOTHER, is out. Watch the video. Share it on your Social Media sites and leave me a message  because somebody is going to win a copy of Robert’s terrific book! Share. Tell folks. Honest. A really wonderful book. Great for book clubs, too.

Pat: I know you will love The Orphan Mother. Robert and I had lunch in Franklin a few years ago and he told me all about the book he was working on. It was fascinating to hear him talk of what was to become The Orphan Mother.

Looks amazing! Plus since i am a Amazon fanatic i went to the website to refresh my memory about what the book is about and YAY no scads of reviews from all the 'important' people in the literary world. You know like the NYT and others have of their ilk. Don't get me wrong we need literary critics and reviews but like you so many times these supposed NYT bestsellers actually kinda suck. Or maybe i am just not evolved enough to get why the book is deemed so wonderful by all these critics. I mean i do live in the #pnw and I don't think NYC is the greatest city in the world.

If you love a good historical fiction, you'll love Robert's work. He wrote Widow of the South to save the plantation that was in disrepair and it worked! WOS was a bestseller. Robert is a wonderful human too.

I grew up with Robert in West Palm Beach. I am looking forward to seeing him when he comes to the area in November. I just finished reading the Widow of the South. I can't wait to read the sequel.
